Great question Larry!

#1 Start the habit. Keep it simple.

Think your topic as an expert. Think tips. Short. Brief. To the point.  I heard the acronym. ABC... Always Be Creating.  People are very time sensitive.

For example: if you are speaking about speaking. What is one tip you could give?  Set up a real-life situtation you found yourself in and what happened. What you did right. What you would do next time.

I also strongly suggest keep an idea file (Like a story file, but I ideas about what you can blog about.)

Hope that helps!

Blog time, blog time, blog time,

Darren

(Like stage time, it will be come natural over time and through experience.)

@Hypnolarry  Larry, the best place to start blogging would be on your own website. The main reason would be to drive traffic to your website, where you can do more with that traffic (get hired, sell products, build a list, etc.). The most popular blogging platform is WordPress -- but you'd need a little technical know-how to get it installed.

Another option, if you just want to get started blogging immediately, is to set up a blog on WordPress.com -- it's the same software, but you don't have to install anything. It's much easier to get started on WordPress.com, and it's possible to move from there to a self-hosted installation of WordPress on your own domain name down the line.
